HOME SWEET HOME!

**Warning stop reading if your squimish**A long story short, well you got most of it, we are in the new home. We were a week behind schedule and it fouled things up quite abit but it's all said and done and now Christmas is quickly approaching. On a side note. Herb and Janet are here. That's all good till Monday. Last Monday Herb somehow stepped on a screw from one of the light switch covers. (we had taken them off to paint). Herb is type 2 diabetic, he has no feeling in his feet. He thought he had a blister and couldn't walk on it on Thursday. So Christy and Aunt Inger convinced him to have it checked. Finally it got to the point where Herb felt he needed to go to the ER (big dicision for him) Christy discovered a screw, as they were sitting waiting for the doc to come look at it. It's been in his foot since Monday!! It was now imbedded in his foot. It was infected. Bad news. So they admitted him. Fortunately he got it out before it spread in his ankle or his leg or he may have been in worse shape than he was.
This morning he was scheduled for surgery to have it checked for puss pockets (a great concern) and to make sure there was no lingering metal. Fortunately there was only one puss pocket and the dr drained it and there was no metal. Carl had given him a blessing the night before. He is doing much better- still in the hospital. Hopefully, he will be able to come home tomorrow or Christmas Eve. They are sending home a family care nurse that will come to the house and show us all how to clean and wrap his wound. He will have a walker.

In the process of all this we've been working, unpacking and we just bought and had our washer and dryer delivered and all our cable phone and termite treatment done. Oh and we're fully moved out of the apartment!! YIPEE!!

The only other mishap was Buster going for his first swim. He can't see very well anymore and walked to close to the edge. I thought he would stop. He didn't. He did start swimming but then got too tired to come back and I had to jump in and save him. It happened within about 30 secs but long enough to send me into a sheer panic! He was calm and kept swimming.I was amazed.

So I guess when all else fails JUST KEEP SWIMMING!

p.s. I'm in the process of unloading photos I will try and post some tomorow of the house. We've done some painting and fixing up things. Things will look a little different!

Another Glitch!
I got a phone call, as I walked in the door to work, this morning from Wendy. She the title agent working on our deal. Apparently our house had not recorded like Corey (our broker) and Frank and Patrick (our agents) had thought or understood. She also stated she needed another check for $174.88!!! I wanted to just cry. So Christy ran over to my work, we ran to the bank got the check and she ran it down to the title company! THANK YOU Christy!!! I got a phone call from Frank first. I had actually been on the phone with him several times already. My poor cell phone! I think I might need a 2nd mortgage just to pay my cell phone bill next month!! Anyway - he finally called at 3pm and said all is well. I did cry that time. I said "Are you SURE?!" he said yes, wendy would be calling me back to verify. Sure enough 10min later Wendy calls. She says "now you can say YEAH!!" I didn't say "yeah" this morning! The poor lady. I felt so bad for her. cause I think she knew I was on the verge of tears this morning. She said she had stayed at her office till after 10pm last night trying to finish up the paper work that Countrywide had requested. She assured me that we did everything right by getting things to her in a hurry and that she has never seen stipulations like Countrywide requested. I have thanked everyone for the hard work. They all earned there money on this deal that's for sure. All of them have said they have never seen anything like it. She said our file is a novel. Literally. It really is over. I guess I was kidding when I said it last night.

It's too late now, cause we've primed the family room and our bedroom already so we can paint tomorrow! I hope they don't want it back!! ha ha!

We OWN A HOME!
Yesterday was still another rollercoaster. Countrywide continued to put stipulations on the contract even after we had signed all the documents. They wanted more paystubs and more info. It was absurd! But when all is said and done, we finally recorded about 3pm yesterday so after work we went the new house!

We have lots to do and lots of painting and lots of moving. But the battle is over for now and we want to enjoy making it our home. It's finally over!!!!!!

So Close...
we are 99.9% of the way done. We had a few glitches and major bumps in the road that involved speaking to the President of Countrywide. I would highly advise anyone who is thinking of purchasing a home to make sure it is NOT Countrywide. They have had our docs for 10-15 days already. They were 'waiting' for our bond money from Maricopa county. Come to find out they had. We did not know why they were sitting on our docs. As of Friday night they still had not sent out the docs. We met with the notary on Monday night. Our payments had skyrocketed and we had a suprise of $2,000 we had to pay out of pocket before closing. Emergency phone calls were made. The closing was cancelled for last night but we did complete it tonight. Almost. The bond docs are being overnighted to the title company. Then at lunch sometime tomorrow, we will have to go to the title company and sign two more docs. Crazy I know. There is much more drama that took place but I am just glad we are almost out of the woods. I told Carl I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel and it's not an oncoming train!

A Cold Day for Closing
We are set to close on the house tomorrow. Nerves and emotions are up and down. We lost power this morning. It's been cold, wet, & windy. We have another storm moving in tomorrow.
We both have work off tomorrow. Everything has the final approval and the only thing we are waiting for is mortgage company to release the close docs. Which they have not yet done. Because there are so many forclosures they are going over EVERYTHING with a fine tooth comb. Which I suppose for us is good.
We had the final walk through of the house on Wed after my work Christmas party. There was still old tires in the shed and the old paint buckets an carpet in the garage. I was furious. I know it seems silly to get bent out of shape about it, we have been very generous with the sellers. Even though they ripped out the work bench in the garage, which they told us specifically was staying that was a big selling point for Carl. They had also taken out the stairs that give access to the attic leaving the attic exposed. Huge saftey issue. We are making them do the termite treatment. They were supposed to have removed the paint and carpet and tires. They other agent had said they had been removed. They hadn't. I was glad we went were able to go back over everything. This other agent has not been very honest and that has a little anxious.
So now it's just up to Countrywide to release the docs so we can close. I feel really bad for our broker - he's been awsome and this Countrywide has been a thorn in his side. They have been working over the weekend to make sure we close on time.
I will be so glad when this process is over. We've been doing some fun stuff though, picking out paint colors and making a list of things we want to fix before moving in. We won't officially move until the following weekend so we can do a few things. We are excited and ready to make this our house.

On another really good note! The Green Bay Packers won again today for the division title and Favre did play the whole game. I did notice they played cautiously due to his arm injury, they let Ryan Grant do most of the work, which I am starting to really like him. Not just because I have him in my Fantasy team as well. I also really like their coach - Mike McCarthy. I am quite happy with the results this year. Here's to the playoffs!

Sports & Entertainment
Our new favorite Monday Night (aside from Mon. Football) is Chuck! this has quickly become a family favorite. Not just for Carl and I but from my siblings as well. I don't usually get addicted to to many shows (don't look at my side bar - there's only a few! ha ha!)Ghost Hunters is the only I HAD to come home and watch - but now I can add Chuck. And more of Dirty Jobs. I didn't HAVE to watch Dirty Jobs but now I try and catch the new episodes. Although, now we are really bumbed because at the end of Chuck's episode they had a note that it won't be airing new episodes till after the first of the year!! Darn writers strike! And speaking of which how come these 'oh so funny' comedians can't write their own shows?! Are they not funny enough? I don't get that one. The shows- I understand but the night shows?! Am I grasping here? I'm not one to usually follow celeb news or entertainment news, except when they cancel a good show or put it on hiatas then I get a little bugged.

Then theres college football?! Where did the BCS go wrong?! Or should I say where did they go right? It should have been ASU vs. Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl at home for ASU. They end up getting the Holiday Bowl. Then there BYU! We finally rank 17th in the Nation. They wind up with once again the Las Vegas Bowl. It's all a compensation price. I know- I know it's based on confrences and rules and screwy votes. I don't know who comes up with this stuff. The NFL is SO much easier! Maybe the BCS can take lessons from the NFL!

Thank you for letting me get that off my chest! ha ha!

Parties at 1am. That's right, it's 1:43am. Why on earth am I posting at 1:42am?! The neighbors across the way from us are having a party. I am sure it had something to do with ASU defeat over UofA. We seem to have developed a lot of college students here in this complex in the last 6 mos or so. Carl has asked them twice to turn it down. We called the cops at 1am. They told us they wouldn't come out unless someone else called in anonymously as well.

When are we moving again?!!!! Oh ya-9 days and counting!!

oh I did get some playing done on my blog as you can see. At least I was productive!
