Seriously! What a week. But a pretty good week. We had the ball game last weekend (see pics below) My days are consisting of Physical Therapy, work and projects both at work and home. Our kids classes are a giant mess. We've changed things a little, we thought it would be a better change. But it's just been really confusing. We tried to have kits done before hand, but we are getting shorted because they are just taking them and then we don't have enough for our classes because girls aren't filling out the forms right. I've been short on both my classes so far. So hopefully we can change that next time around.

Physical Therapy has been pretty good so far. I really like the place I go to. It's brand new. It's also literally at the corner. I can walk there. I even really like my therapist!! LOL!I start really early in the morning. But's it's 3x a week instead of the 2 like I thought. For five wks. The last two days have been really painful. I am supposed to do exercises on days I don't have therapy. The bad part was I did them Tue night and then I had my therapy first thing in the am. It was too much for my knees in a 12 hr period. So I need to do them in the am on the days I don't have it. So it spreads it out more. There are a few of them that are harder. The lifting is hard and the ones where I have to push my ankles back. We are going to try something different tomorrow. So far the cortizone shots not doin a whole lot. I am still remaining opomistic about the therapy. This is only the first week and probably the hardest. I didn't go to work on Wed it was so sore.

Anyway - a couple other things. I mentioned a little about my nephew Gabe. Well, he LOVES LOVES the pirate chest I made (also see pics below), he called me last night. He also is going to be baptized in August!!! HUGE deal!! In our religion, (for those who aren't familiar) we baptize at the age of 8 (accountibility) He asked if we were going to be there. I have said from the beginning ABSOLUTELY. Well I didn't realize that we also (or didn't put dates together I should say) that we have Farmor (carls grandma) 90th bday bash which has been in the works for more than year and we have REQUESTED and EXPECTED to be there with bells on. That's the week of the 16th. Not a problem you would think. We can't make two trips to Salt Lake. It's just tooo dang expensive. And conflicts at work. But I can't miss Gabes baptism either. That's just too big a deal. (considering his cirumstances and his life it's huge!) anyway, Carl and I had quite the conflict. Theres other issues that Farmor and I have had and family issues that I won't get into.

We worked it out. We talked to Carls dad, my mom (who have been wonderfully supportive of either decision and seeing our big conflict) and Christy. I am going to Salt Lake August 3rd -8th.
then Carl is going to the party. I may still go to the party if he drives with Christy and we can all split the cost of gas. Christy would prefer to fly because her and Alexis don't want come home until monday. Carl and I have to be back to work on Monday. That's the other hard part, we can't miss that much work just because of stuff at work. It's all very complicated, but I think we've got it worked out. Carl is just sick that he can't be there for Gabes baptism. Gabe had asked if Carl was going to be there. (Carl and Gabe also got to be close) Carl really wanted to stand in the confirmation circle. The date of the baptism tried to get changed to July so we could be there, but the building is not available that day and they do things on a Stake level. On a Sunday night now. Whew! I know it's very confusing, are you confused yet, cause I am! LOL!

We also had dinner at our friends house tonight. It was a lot of fun! We need to do it more often.
I am not sure what this weekend will look like! Hopefully we'll be able to relax and wind down a little!!

YAR!

I made this for Gabe yesterday! I am soooo excited about it. It' s the new line from Rusty Pickle! I was so excited when we got it on Saturday!!! We have had these treasure boxes for a while, and I wanted to do one, but we didn't have the paper as soon as the paper came in I had to have it. I am so excited to send this to Gabe! He love it. That was all he wanted for his birthday was Pirate stuff. He can put his legos in it!

Happy Birthday to Gabe! He's my nephew. He's 8yrs old today. It's amazing that he is 8yrs old today. What's so amazing that he's 8yrs old? He's an 8 yr old with a pace maker. "his superpowers" as he calls them. Gabe is an amazing story of survival and miracles. He was born to my step sister (my EVIL stepsister) who no longer has custody of him. Gabe is being raised by my mom and my step dad. Due to drugs and many other issues (I won't get into any time soon, I don't talk about them much myself) Gabe underwent several heart operations. He was tough. My parents stuck with him through it all. He beat the odds of what the doctors had set out for him. He has what is called HypoleftHeart. (that's the short version in English). He was born missing most of the left chamber of his heart. From the termoil of his mom and the operations he is a survivor. The life expectancy of one with his condition is not very long because their heart cannot keep up with their growth. Most only live to be about 15 or 16. If that long. He is 8yrs old today. I am sad I am not there to celebrate this day with him but we did talk on the phone. And as most 8yr olds would, the conversation consisted of Legos and Pirates. He is an amazing little kid! Did I mention that already! I miss him a lot. We spent soo much time with him in the hospital. Switching nights, giving him hot packs and chocolate milk and Monsters Inc and Blues Clues. And LOTS of medication. He has annual check ups. He and I have matching chest scars. One from my open heart surgery and one from his many! Happy Birthday buddy!!

Good News And Bad News
It's been very busy. Lots to update. First the bad news/ but it's good news Janet is having most of her Thyroid removed. July 12th. It is much larger than the Dr. anticipated. DUH!! So they are taking a majority of it out. She's had a few setbacks but nothing major. She is on new medication and that seems to be helping.

I also had my dr appt today. I had the MRI's done on my knees about two weeks ago. The dr. said No surgery. Which is good. I think. He gave me a cortozone shot in my left knee. They do it between the joints in my knee. (which is a painful shot) but hopefully it will help. I'll just be sore for a few days. I start physical therapy twice a week, like we had originally discussed. The parts that's frustrating for me is the pain is in a different spot then were most of the problem is. I have a full disc in my joint instead of half of one which is good. He doesn't want to go in and fix it not knowing it's going to fix the problem. Which is good that he doesn't want to just go in an open me up for exploratory purposes. I am a little frustrated - I've done the cortozone shots before, but maybe with the combination of the therapy it will be better.

Keep your fingers crossed or keep Janet in your prayers if you can. That her surgery will be succesful and she will do well and start feeling better.

It's Officially Summer!
It's officially HOT! We have finally reached the 110* mark! Well depending on which station you follow. According to locals it's 110* but according to National weather we're only around 107* It's been in the low 100's that's not bad that's Spring weather! HA HA! I know it's officially summer when you walk outside at 9:30 at night and you can still feel the heat rising off the pavement. That means the pool will probably be about 80-85* with just help from Mr. Sun! That's almost like bath water! We won't start getting the heat advisorys until we reach 113-115*. We had it last year for almost two weeks straight. The only bad part with that is we miss the Monsoons. Something most. live for here. That is something to behold. I posted some pictures of it last year, but it was mild.
Last year it evaporated before it even hit the ground. Too hot. Maybe this year because we have been lower temptatures we will get better storms! I don't mind the heat. But I love the Monsoons more. There's my little weather update for you!

I've been doing more scrapping. A few more little books for other people.
Tomorrow night we have a scrapping night at work. We need new layouts in the store in a bad way and we have soo much new product. We get paid $10 a layout. It's fun. We've done it the last couple years that I've been there. I think it's a really nice perk. We don't get to keep it but it's fun to show off our styles and creativity.
Our kids classes have taken off like crazy!! Which is really good. They are a lot of work but a lot of fun.

I am off tomorrow, I hope I can go swimming, they were closing the pool again though. They drained the hot tub again for the third time. I don't know what's up with that. Bummer! I hope the pool is open tomorrow!

Today would be about a 7. It was a pretty good day overall. I did end up working a full shift today. Which I normally don't do, but we're so short staffed during the summer it ended up being that way. But it wasn't crazy like last week. In fact, Megan and I just worked on layouts.

After work, Carl picked me up and we went and saw Oceans 13. I told you this would be the summer of the movies. And theres many more still to see! We both enjoyed Oceans 13. Almost better than Oceans 12. Oceans 11 is still the best but Oceans 13 was very good and I didn't predict the ending at all. That's all I say about that. Matt Damion is great in this one as always.

Our netflix movie of the night is Invincible. We wanted to see this one on the screen, but we missed it. I lost interest in about half way through. I know I know. It's a football movie. I like Mark Walhberg too, but it was a little slow. Carl enjoyed it. I liked it for the football and the history of the game and the teams.

A wierd but good note, after the movie we went to the grocery store. We went to the one on the other side of Mckellips by our old apartments because it was on the way home from the movie theater. We stood in line to pay, there was a lady in front of us, with not alot of stuff she wasn't there very long but she looked at me and I looked at her and we both did a double take, but shook it off. I kept thinking in my head, maybe I know her from 30th Ward (the ward we just moved out of). She looked vaguely familiar. I must know her from church. Don't ya hate that! Anyway, she paid for her things and went out of the parking lot. We didn't go out the same way. I got to the row we were parked on and she stopped me as she was getting ready to get into her car. She said " I know you from somewhere, and I don't know where!" I gave her my name. My married name. She looked confused. She said "that's not who you used to be". When I told her my maiden name ( I NEVER ever say anymore I don't have any assocation with it anymore), she said "AMY!" "it's Patty!" She was my very old, very dear friend from my youth. She was my mentor and my advisor for so many years. She helped me so much through the difficult changes and divorce and things going on in my family. As soon as she told me her name she grabbed me and hugged me. I started to cry so did she. It's been 15yrs!

I used to come down here, every six months or so. I would always stop in and see them. I stayed with them once or twice. They have three kids. I babysat them once in a while too. Her husband Gary was in the bishopbric when my parents were getting divorce. My dad was excommunicated, and Gary was very much involved in things that were going on with my parents. To my recollection, most people in the ward knew what was going on with my parents except the kids. Until the very end. We talked we could have stood there and talked a long time. We exchanged phone numbers. She was a person I had tried looking for when we first moved down. They are just on the other side of the high school from us. In a different stake.

I am also a firm believer that there are people in our lives for a purpose. Patty was one of those people. I have a testimony of the gospel still to this day, partially because of the influence of her and her leaders in YW. It's struggle for me constantly to stay strong in the gospel and I don't alway do. But I firmly believe that people around us can influence us for good and for bad. It made my day maybe even my week to see her after all these years.

Cartoons
I love Cartoons. I try to watch them when I can. Maybe it's the kid in me. I love them. I don't like the new ones on Cartoon Network Kimpossible or Teeny girls or whatever it's called. But others like Clifford (I had all the books growing up!). The Berenstein Bears are on PBS once in a while too. I try to catch them in the morning. Or on my days off. Tom and Jerry is another favorite along with my all time favorite character Snoopy.

Tonights movie and Cartoon. Chicken Run!

It's been busy! I am working on several projects right now, both for work and my own stuff. It's nice. We have kids classes in full swing at work. We have twice as many as we did last year. We usually make quite a bit of money off kids classes. If you click on my job link you can look at the calendar. Mine are towards the end of June then I have two in July. We are precutting everything so that people can pick them up before hand, if they wish. The other thing I am working on is these 8x8 mini albums for some friends. I am selling them for $25 bucks a pop. I already sold three and two more coming.

It's fun to be scraping again. It's kinda funny though, I haven't done my own stuff in AGES! I don't think I have since we've moved down here. I usually end up doing gifts for everyone else. Which is just as much fun!

I think this weekend we will try and see Shrek 3 (we've tried twice now) or Oceans 13.

PIRATES

As much as I LOVE the cast of the Pirates movies I have to say I am a little disappointed in this one. I won't spoil it for those of you who haven't seen it. Just tell you what I thought of it! I didn't mind that it was long, I just think they could have had a lot more fun with this one instead of doing so much of the story telling and so much of the special effects. (although they were amazing!)
I am not a Johnny Depp fan but I think the role of Captain Jack Sparrow was made for him or he was born for the part. One of the two. I love Jack Sparrow. As much as Will Turner and even the little obnoxious monkey. Who is charmingly funny in this one. Elizabeth not so much. She was a little too annoying and whiney for me. But she was better in this one than two. The Calypso story line was way too much. And I didn't care for it. She was alway creepy.
Someone told us to stay till the end of the credits (which there are a lot of btw!). I am glad they did. So that's what I'll tell you and if you didn't go back and see it again.

I know I have changed my blog again. Get used to it! ha ha! I think it's the scrapbooker in me. I always like to see what I can do and what I change and add, especially when it comes to color. It would be boring if I left it the same all the time. I try not to change it more than once a week. It's still bugging me, I just haven't had time to work on it lately! I hope everyone had a great weekend!
