Country Girl/City Girl
HA HA! Did I confuse anyone?! Yes I do like country as well. I have a few favorites. I just prefer my classic rock. But every so often I play country and still have a spot in my heart for country. My first concert was Garth Brooks Shameless Tour. The most amazing concert (a side from U2 Vertigo Tour my#1 pick!).

So Enjoy a little country.... I will add more here shortly.

Sad
I am sad for neice Alexis. My heart breaks for her. On Saturday night her friend shot and killed after leaving a party at a club. He's 16. It's my understanding that the friend had a fight with his mom about going to the party and he lied and went anyway! He called his mom as he was dying and told her what happened and apologized. I can't even imagine! Alexis is devastated. Her friends and the school are shocked. Apparently a fight had started to escalate inside the club- the owners had shut down the party due to the fight, however the fight continued into the parking lot and shot were fired as people were leaving. Reagan (the friend) happened to be an innocent victim.
It soo very sad. Life is very very short.

Cats Vs. Dogs
So this morning I went to take the clothes out of the washer to put into the dryer. Our washer and dryer is a stackable unit out on our patio. I was surprised- more scared out of my wits to find a striped cat sitting on top of the washer. Scared the pants of me - I'll tell ya! It got my adreniline pumping at 8am!! All I saw were the stripes.I actually didn't know what it was till I screamed and ran in the house, all I saw were the green eyes. Carl thought that I had a scorpion or some other desert creature that surprised me. (I usually don't scream like that!)So the cat doesn't seem bothered that I'm startled or that mr. cat is startled. He jumps up on the water heater and decides he's going to stay there . Have I ever mentioned that I HATE cats! They creep me out. Especially with their yellow or green eyes. But this cat was HUGE! I was greatly disturbed. Carl teased me about it all day today!! LOL!

I won't EVER leave the laundry door room open ever!
On the dog note. Now it's starting to cool off, which means some storms are TRYING to come in. It gets cloudy and over cast like it's going to rain, but does nothing. However my dogs seem to think they can predict the weather. Going out side in the rain is NOT an option for them. Nor does that mean walking on the grass. Well, no rain today they got lucky. Bilko for some reason or another, has a phobia of the sidewalk, rain or not! He will walk on the grass or the rocks or the curb but for some reason he avoids the sidewalk. I even tried to pull him over with the leash. No luck. My dog is WEIRD. But at least he's not a cat that will sit on my washer waiting to scare the pants off me at 8am!

To make matters worse, I get home from work to switch the laundry again and there is ANOTHER CAT! What am I the Cat women! Maybe I need to stick a BIG sign on the patio fence that says "BEWARE OF BIG DOG!" This one was a different color and in heat. Carl had to come get it for me. I hope I have no more cats for a long time. Otherwise the apartments are going to get a nasty note from me! The anti cat lady!

I don't Get It!
That's right I said it. " I don't get it!" So tomorrow at work - for all those who don't know (I think most who read this do know though) that I work for a scrapbook store. One of the other big ones in town. Tomorrow is going to be a VERY Long day. Heidi Swapp is going to be in our store from 6-8pm. She's doing a big raffle drawing and free demos. This is her last stop before she moves to China (due to her husbands business). Let me explain (for the non scrapbooking folk! no offense of course!) she is a celebrity of high proportions in the scrapbooking world. "Pink and Bling" is her thing.

So tomorrow it will be standing room only in our store for a few hours of time. I don't get it. Yes she is a very talented lady. She does have some very cute stuff (a little overpriced for my taste but that's just me - don't hate me!) She is a local girl from Mesa, Arizona. It will be interestring to watch her work.

I guess I don't get into the whole celebrity thing.(if others due that's okay too!) ESPECIALLY in scrapbooking. And yes I have been published, so it's not jealousy or anything like that. I just don't get it. I suppose. I am not much of a celebrity watcher to begin with (Unless it involves football!)

To tomorrow will be a little crazy. I have no idea what time I am getting done.
Anyway - speaking of football. I've learened several things about high school football. On Saturday of last week we went to our friend's son JV Football game with Mtn. View. They lost. But man it was blazin HOT! I don't get how they played those boys in 100+ outside. And that day was a cool day because we had a breeze. Crazy I'll tell ya! Oh and another thing I've learned about HS football. 1. They DO NOT kick field goals. I don't know if it's rules or one of those 'hidden rules' LOL! I have yet to see this in HS football. I am very curious to see if they do and and why/or why not! 2. they like to run up the score no matter if they are ahead or behind the other team is. It's funny I used to be the sports editor in HS. I have forgotten so much -maybe that's why I don't get it! Why I haven't seen them kick a field goal. WIERD!

Ok there's my vent or "I don't get it" series - that's over lets move on to more important things! A Green Bay Packers 2-0 wins for the season so far! Much better start in a LONG time. Now that I get and I'll take it!!

NFL SUNDAY
News Of The Day

Brett Favre picked a near-perfect way to become the winningest quarterback in NFL history Favre, hit his first 14 passes of the second half and threw three touchdown passes to rally the Green Bay Packers to a 35-13 victory over Eli Manning and the New York Giants on Sunday.

The victory was the 149th of Favre's 17-year career and gave him one more than Hall of Famer John Elway.

Oh edited to add- It's is also this day in history that Green Bay football team was named the Packers!

a day later
9-11-01
Several days after 9/11 we travelled to NYC. Crazy probably. 6 yrs ago, my sister Kait was traveling to Africa. Before the attacks, we had planned to spend a week NYC and Boston. After dropping her off at the JFK Airport that Sunday.

Little did we know how much our plans would change and how it would affect us personally. I saw things a block from Ground Zero - and witnessed first hand the devastation that rocked our Nation. The smell from and taste and sights from Wall Street and the scene from the Staten Island Ferry is something I'll never forget. This is the picture we took from the Staten Island Ferry four days later.

This is Funny!
carl sent this too me in an email - it's terribly funny or I was really tired!

Comments made on students' report cards:

These are actual comments made on students' report cards by teachers in the New York City public school system. All teachers were reprimanded but, boy, are these funny!

1. Since my last report, your child has reached rock bottom and has started to dig.

2. I would not allow this student to breed.

3. Your child has delusions of adequacy.

4. Your son is depriving a village somewhere of an idiot.

5.Your son sets low personal standards and then consistently fails to achieve them.

6. The student has a "full six-pack" but lacks the plastic thing to hold it all together.

7. This child has been working with glue too much.

8. When your daughter's IQ reaches 50, she should sell.

9. The gates are down, the lights are flashing, but the train isn't coming.

10. If this student were any more stupid, he'd have to be watered twice a week.

11. It's impossible to believe the sperm that created this child beat out 1,000,000 others.

12. The wheel is turning but the hamster is definitely dead.

Football
FOOTBALL!

Speaking of football. The BYU Cougars defeated the Arizona Wildcats 20-7 in the season opener yesterday! I have been a long time BYU Cougar fan. I bleed "blue blood" as they say. It started my passion for football very early. I grew up watching players like Ty Detmer and Steve Young. They were my heros, along with Lavell Edwards. It was an honor and a treat to watch games at Cougar Stadium, now - Lavell Edwards Stadium. Yesterday at halftime they retired Ty Detmer and Gifford Nielson's numbers. Unfortunately, Ty never did much in his professional career and retired early due to injuries.

We get the games on channel called Verses. Because of some contract the Mountain West Conference has to carry certain games. It's one of the things that drives me crazy about sports. But at least we can watch the games. We had the cousins over - so we could all watch it together. We have the schedules, once again printed out on our fridge for BYU, ASU, and the Green Bay Packers!!
