Because it's been so long!
I changed colors for old times sake! LOL! The white was gettin kinda boring. I've added a playlist as you can see. I have to tell a little story about one of the songs. Little Pink House by John Cougar.

When Carl and I were in Stockholm,Sweden, last summer. We had just arrived and had not yet got on the cruise. We stopped and had dinner at Hard Rock. It's been a tradition (sort of) for Carl and I to stop by the Hard Rock in the different places we've been. If it's possible. So we did Stockholm. Being Herbs hometown. Anyway - we had dinner and as we were having dinner this song came on. I found it really ironic that we were sitting in an European country listing to John Cougar "Ain't that America , for you & me, Ain't that America , Something to see baby... " ya get the picture! So now every time I hear that song - instead of thinking of America - I'm gonna think of Stockholm! It made me laugh. I mentioned to Carl as we were having dinner. It's always been a favorite so now it's always on my playlists.

I guess you could say that I am a classic rock kinda girl. I like country too, but if I had a choice I would choose Classic Rock. I miss going to work listening to the classic rock station. Did I just say I miss going to work! Oh it has been too long!

Speaking of which, I am down another week. Saw the dr on Wed. the Cast came off. Thank goodness. Apparently they thought I had just a knee bandage on, not the whole leg wrapped, so when the dr's office told me on Monday I couldn't take it off, they though I only had the other bandage. So I was a little annoyed that I kept the thing on for a whole week. Not to mention that it stuck to my leg from the medicine they put on it, they had to peel it off. I still am washing some off in the tub. The nurse felt bad. She said the hospital did not give very clear instructions. I was supposed to clean it with peroxide every day. Who knew?!! My knee was the size of a basketball when we took the wrap off, now it's down to about a softball! LOL! The meniscus tear was bad. We saw the pictures. Even the DR said he was suprised, for someone as little as I am. It was shredded on both sides of my knee. He told me to " ice the crap out of it" and take another week off if I can.It made me laugh that he said "Crap!" lol! I don't know why! It's pretty black and blue and green. It's pretty gross. Maybe one day I'll post pictures. I bruise easy. But dang! I'm very wobbly to walk and it's pretty numb still, but it's getting better every day. Hopefully I can go back to work sometime next week, because I'm getting bored! I can't do a whole lot moving wise.

On another note - Janet is doing well. She's sore as to be expected. She's still on oxygen as far as I know all her other tubes are out. She had a chest tube for a few days. She is at home resting. Christy has been up there - she will be back on Sunday. Oh and we've had Peanut (her little dog) since I've had my surgery! It's been a picnic! LOL! That's all I'll say about that.

Small Update
Janets surgery was also a success. I guess they did take her thyroid and the groitter out! All at the same time. It went very smooth though. The dr. said the groitter (I still don't know if I am spelling that right) was the size of a softball. The largest he's ever seen. They are doing a biopsy on it just to rule out cancer. But it doesn't look like. She's recovering well, in the hospital till tomorrow or the next day depending on her levels.

I am feeling truely blessed right now. I have a wonderfully supportive family and husband. Carl has been wonderful with my recovery and my process. He has been so helpful and I am eternally grateful for him. Most men wouldn't do what he's done the last few days. I know he has loads going on at work, (he's up for a promotion but we won't know anything for a month so forget I said anything!LOL!) He's been on an interviewing commitee to hire more people for their office. He's had both trips to Salt Lake, me being gone and him going and helping Christy. It's just been an amazingly hectic month and he's been amazing.

He even listened to me whine about not being able to take my 'cast' off today! It won't come off till wed. I call it a cast, it's a wrap all the way from my thigh to my ankle. I have been so high on medication the last few days - I don't remember most conversations. So if I have forgotten what I have said please forgive me - it was the drugs talking. I had a severe allergic reaction or some sort to the medication they gave me. It was EVIL. almost as evil as Lortab!! YUCK!

Anyway - I am feeling like my oldself again and I am tickled that Janet will and should make a full recovery. I know that has been an long enduring, epic battle for them. It could have been a lot worse. We've been very lucky.

My family has been wonderful as well. My mom has called to check on me everyday. She left for Oregon to pick up Gabe yesterday and we learned sad news, that Mike and Jens dog Gypsy (a boxer) who's been around longer than our shih tzu buster (almost 10yrs) passed away yesterday. I cried. My heart hurts for them and the kids. I know they have grown up with that dog. She was a good dog for so long. Farewell go gypie!

There are so many things to be greatful for. I am happy that things have turned out the way they have.

I'm Alive
Surgery was a success. We think. We didn't get to talk to the dr. They sent Carl to the wrong waiting room. They did fix meniscus tear. They say it's a footbal injury!!LOL! Go figure!
I am walking on it - with crutches sometimes. I am bandaged all the way from my thiegh to my ankle. I was hoping I could take it off today. But it won't come off till Wed with the stitches.
Hopefully I'll have something else to blog about!LOL!

Janet is in for her surgery as we speak. It should be pretty smooth. She's doing good with the oxygen. Remember when I said this was the year to fix stuff? I guess I wasn't kidding!

All else is well in the world.

Just A Quicky!
to say hello and I'm still here. Working a lot trying to make up time between trips and surgery. Surgery in Wed! I am trying not to let my nerves get the best of me and remain optimistic!
I wanted to give a shot out to one of carls great uncles.fred in Pennsylvania! You guys are so sweet! I appreciate the well wishes!!

Oh Janet is doing much better. She is on oxygen. The growth the found is a groiter?! I don't know how to spell it. So they are removing it on the 27th of Aug. If you could keep her in your prayers. Then they will go in and take out the thyroid. But this growth is also creating a large part of her issues.

Carl went to the party in slc with Christy and Alexis. It's always a hard drive to drive up there for 10 hrs each way and spend less then 24 hrs there. But the party for Farmor was a big success. That's a good thing too!

I will try to blog more often. Lots of stuff going on and life it a little crazy! I miss my internet friends and everyone! Hope everyone is doing well.

YEAH ! Football season is HERE!! At least Pre-Season!! The Packers play the Steelers Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately I just realized, I am going to miss part of it, with work. I am busy prepping my self for Fantasy Football. I am hoping to be better prepared this year. I am a little apprehensive about the Packers and what the future holds for them. There are many hopeful things they have going - I hope it pans out. Oh if anyone is intrested, we still have openings in our league for Fantasy Football. Email me if you wanna play. The computer will even pick for you if you don't to or can't be there that day.

Utah was fun. It was fun to spend time with the my family. Gabes baptism was smooth and very nice. I was a little worried. Many of my family members have gone away from the church and some are very angry towards the church. I don't know if anger is the right word. But when it comes to family stuff, everyone puts aside their differences and makes it pleasant for the most part. It was a special day for Gabe and Kees and I am thankful for that. The kids were down from Oregon as well. Austin, Shelby and Liam. They were a blast. As well as Shea and Angels kids, Matia and Britton. They are SO cute! We got some really fun photos! I have 4 cds worth!
My sister Trina has an amazingly cool job with Hogle Zoo. I have mentioned it before. She is the elephant trainer and keeper. One of them I should say. They do a show for the kids mostly educating them about the elephants and how they care for them! It's fascinating and she gets the elephants to show them their mouths and feet to check them. Like a medical check up. I will have to post pictures here sometime. It's pretty cool! She is in heaven! It's her dream job! She works one on one with the Elephants like she did in Thailand. Just now she has African Elephants instead of Asian Elephants. That was one of my favorite parts of the trip was seeing her do her job!

I came home a little sunburned. I live in Arizona for three years and not once had a sunburn (I'm a redhead too!LOL!) but I spend one week in Utah and my arms burned. Fortunately not very bad. I've had some ugly ones up there. And mosquito bites. But it was all worth it.

I had surgery prep today. The million ??'s and the ekg and the xrays. We were in and out of there in an hour so it wasn't too bad. I am a little excited and a little nervous. I have a week and half to go! Hope everyone is good. I am sorry I have not been blogging it's just been extremely busy!!
