HOME SWEET HOME!

**Warning stop reading if your squimish**A long story short, well you got most of it, we are in the new home. We were a week behind schedule and it fouled things up quite abit but it's all said and done and now Christmas is quickly approaching. On a side note. Herb and Janet are here. That's all good till Monday. Last Monday Herb somehow stepped on a screw from one of the light switch covers. (we had taken them off to paint). Herb is type 2 diabetic, he has no feeling in his feet. He thought he had a blister and couldn't walk on it on Thursday. So Christy and Aunt Inger convinced him to have it checked. Finally it got to the point where Herb felt he needed to go to the ER (big dicision for him) Christy discovered a screw, as they were sitting waiting for the doc to come look at it. It's been in his foot since Monday!! It was now imbedded in his foot. It was infected. Bad news. So they admitted him. Fortunately he got it out before it spread in his ankle or his leg or he may have been in worse shape than he was.
This morning he was scheduled for surgery to have it checked for puss pockets (a great concern) and to make sure there was no lingering metal. Fortunately there was only one puss pocket and the dr drained it and there was no metal. Carl had given him a blessing the night before. He is doing much better- still in the hospital. Hopefully, he will be able to come home tomorrow or Christmas Eve. They are sending home a family care nurse that will come to the house and show us all how to clean and wrap his wound. He will have a walker.

In the process of all this we've been working, unpacking and we just bought and had our washer and dryer delivered and all our cable phone and termite treatment done. Oh and we're fully moved out of the apartment!! YIPEE!!

The only other mishap was Buster going for his first swim. He can't see very well anymore and walked to close to the edge. I thought he would stop. He didn't. He did start swimming but then got too tired to come back and I had to jump in and save him. It happened within about 30 secs but long enough to send me into a sheer panic! He was calm and kept swimming.I was amazed.

So I guess when all else fails JUST KEEP SWIMMING!

p.s. I'm in the process of unloading photos I will try and post some tomorow of the house. We've done some painting and fixing up things. Things will look a little different!
