A Cold Day for Closing
maybe...
We are set to close on the house tomorrow. Nerves and emotions are up and down. We lost power this morning. It's been cold, wet, & windy. We have another storm moving in tomorrow. We both have work off tomorrow. Everything has the final approval and the only thing we are waiting for is mortgage company to release the close docs. Which they have not yet done. Because there are so many forclosures they are going over EVERYTHING with a fine tooth comb. Which I suppose for us is good.
We had the final walk through of the house on Wed after my work Christmas party. There was still old tires in the shed and the old paint buckets an carpet in the garage. I was furious. I know it seems silly to get bent out of shape about it, we have been very generous with the sellers. Even though they ripped out the work bench in the garage, which they told us specifically was staying that was a big selling point for Carl. They had also taken out the stairs that give access to the attic leaving the attic exposed. Huge saftey issue. We are making them do the termite treatment. They were supposed to have removed the paint and carpet and tires. They other agent had said they had been removed. They hadn't. I was glad we went were able to go back over everything. This other agent has not been very honest and that has a little anxious.
So now it's just up to Countrywide to release the docs so we can close. I feel really bad for our broker - he's been awsome and this Countrywide has been a thorn in his side. They have been working over the weekend to make sure we close on time.
I will be so glad when this process is over. We've been doing some fun stuff though, picking out paint colors and making a list of things we want to fix before moving in. We won't officially move until the following weekend so we can do a few things. We are excited and ready to make this our house.
On another really good note! The Green Bay Packers won again today for the division title and Favre did play the whole game. I did notice they played cautiously due to his arm injury, they let Ryan Grant do most of the work, which I am starting to really like him. Not just because I have him in my Fantasy team as well. I also really like their coach - Mike McCarthy. I am quite happy with the results this year. Here's to the playoffs!

I remember moving into this house...just before Christmas. Still it is good.
Congrats on the house!
