We had quite the successful afternoon for the most part. We ran our errands this morning. Tried to do alittle Christmas shopping and get things for the party tonight. I needed to make my homemade rolls. There was a mishap, and I ended up going to Costco and just getting them there. There is just to much going on and I tried to do to many things at once. Normally I put the dough in the oven and cover it with a dish towel, to help it rise. It rises faster that way. Well I thought well, I better preheat the oven, take a quick shower and then get ready for the party. Well, I had forgotten to take the dough out of the oven when I turned it on. When I got out of the shower, Carl asked if I was burning something. They towel had caught fire!! It's funny because I had it in a stainless steel bowl. A really big one. The bowl was untouched and so was the dough but the dish towel was half way burned. It was that cute dog one that I bought a while back it was my favorite towel! I was so sad. But I guess it did something to the dough because they didn't get very big. I followed my normal recipe, but for some reason they didn't get very big. So Costco to the rescue!

The party was a lot of fun. Even Noel (the boss I mentioned earlier) came and his wife. They are a sweet sweet couple. They also did their little christmas number. Each year the court has a competition for Christmas. Each of the depts have to rewrite a Christmas song to court lyrics. Last year they did "There's no Place Like Home" This year theya re doing "Santa Clause is coming to town!" but changing to ASC (Arizona Supreme Court)is coming to town.Remember how I mentioned that Carl goes out of town for Oral Arguments with the court. He just went to Tuscon for Halloween. Anyway - this competition is a big deal. Especially for Noel. They really get it to it and it's coregraphed and everything. So they performed it for us tonight and it's great. The words are so clever. Karen, Noel and Dian write the words every year. See what I mean they are a pretty close bunch. Tonight at the party was a lot of fun.
Here are a few pictures from the evening. But the funniest part is because it was at Brenda's house which is in Egypt or as we all joked East L.A! I'm not kididng, we pass the turn off to go to L.A!! It cracked me up all the way home!I've never been to the west side of town before. Its sooo far away and exploding with new developments. But she is out in the middle of Nomans land. But a beautiful neighborhood and house. It's about 1/2 commute to Phoenix and then probably another 3040 mins to Mesa where we live.
But I am glad we went. It was a good time. Now we just have to get through tomorrow, wish us luck!
