and this too did pass...
So late last night we got a frantic call from Christy. Hysterical and crying telling us to meet her at the vet that Peanut got attacked. Peanut is her little shihtzu mix. He's half the size of Bilko. hence his name. She was house sitting and he got attacked by Boxers. Now here we were thinking of Gypsy. My brother has a full size Boxer, they can be aggresive and are bigger dogs.
This was cause for great concern. Peanut broke his leg one time jumping off the couch he's so little. Anyway, we got to the vet. She said that the two Boxers had Peanut cornered in the bathroom, she said there was blood everywhere and Peanut was wimpering in the corner. She picked him up, threw the Boxers out of the way and shut them in the bathroom. And took him to the emergency room. He has an eye puncture and they weren't sure if he had any broken bones or puncture wounds till they got him cleaned up. When we got there they were cleaning him up.
We didn't see him right away. The vet told Christy that they were going to check him out and make sure he was okay and give him morfin for the pain.
They got him cleaned up and then we went back to see him. He was very responsive to all of us, especially Christy. Which was a REALLY good sign and a huge RELIEF! His ear was all bloody on one side. His eyes looked to be okay. He wasn't favoring anything to be broken. And he was moving around but scared.
We took Christy back to the house she was sitting. She still had to check on the other dogs and clean up the mess. She said the bathroom was amess and didn't want to go back by herself. Understandable. I felt really bad for her. She was a wreck. I would be too, if it had been Bilko or Buster. Anyway we got to the house, Anita was with us too. She had met Christy at the Vet so she could drive. Anita and I went into the bathroom so Christy wouldn't have too. She didn't
want to see the blood. Anita and I both held our breath walking into the bathroom. But it wasn't as bad as we thought it would be. We got it cleaned up with some papertowels and water. It was tile so we didnt' want to use any cleaner on it. This house was HUGE! It was a very richy house!
It was funny Christy still took the other dogs for a walk, till she heard back from the vet while they worked on Peanut. The other dogs were fine, these were LITTLE boxers. But they stay in the bathroom when they are alone (like ours do) I wonder if they just go territorial with Peanut in the bathroom. Anyway - Anita and I did some snooping checking out the people house. We are nosey! LOL! The house was HUGE! did I mention that. Anyway, Christy gave us the tour. They are selling it so a lot of it was empty. You can learn a lot about people by stuff in there in house. It was in a upperclass gated community. We walked around the circle with the dogs and then took Christy back to the Vet. Peanut came out lucky. He had puncture wounds and scratches from where they got him, but fortunately they had not shaken him like we all had feared. His eye looks like it might be okay too. They put some stuff on it and she has to watch it for 48 hrs and make sure it doesn't turn a funny color. We had to do that with Bilko a few years ago, when he poked it out with the Christmas Tree (funny story I'll tell one day!LOL!)
Anyway - I have my old job back. The one at the Scrapbook Barn. I know I know! I'm crazy! I talked to Robyn tonight. Actually I got an email from Brenda that was soo sweet it brought me to tears. She told me to call Robyn. Robyn said she would hire me back in a heart beat. She just has to check it with Teresa. I miss the girls. I miss their friendship. There were some things I didn't like about it, but overall, it was a good job and I was happy! So I'll be back to scraping again.
WHAT AN INSANE WEEK!!!
